Assessment at New Park Primary School
The way schools record children’s attainment levels changed in September 2014.
The academic year 2014-15 was the last year where Year 2 and Year 6 were assessed on the old National Curriculum Levels. From September 2015 all children at New Park will move to the new ‘Assessing without Levels’ system. The national expectation is that children work at Age Related Expectations (ARE). Simply put, children will now be assessed against the expectations for their year group and this is what will be reported to parents. This is a significant change and one which class teachers will be happy to discuss further at parent consultations.
Our Learning Challenge curriculum structure will directly support us to deliver outstanding learning opportunities and skills building for your child towards achieving the new assessment criteria for their age.
